Inretail
Secret shopper
Together with the Creative minds of Mensch Amsterdam, we created five mini commercials on social media.
The videos were part of a campaign to excite people for a job in retail. It is so much more than folding clothes and storing products.
When I read the request, I felt we could get away with slight absurdism, creating a character that could be either your worst nightmare or your funniest customer of the day.
Luckily Mensh-Amsterdam and Inretail supported it all the way.

The Process
-
At first, the request was to create a series of videos where a secret shopper would "test" the reaction of store employees. Going back and forth with suggestions for the videos, the agency ultimately gave me a large amount of freedom.
-
The concept slightly changed over time. From a "secret shopper" to showing how one person can make, or break, your day in retail.
Our character surprises us with his enthusiasm and good-hearted lack of social boundaries.
How you would deal with this situation might define if retail is something for you.
The added on-screen choice resulted in the ability to use the campaign interactively. -
Working with actual stores as locations meant we needed to be agile and careful in our process. They provided us with a large amount of flexibility and cooperation.
Our cast performed great, and the wardrobe details sold the different personas of our main character.
We shot and delivered five videos for horizontal, square, and vertical usage, making them suitable for all social platforms. -
